Typically, for wooden mechanical puzzles, we use high-quality, thicker wood to make these movable parts more durable. We recommend carefully sanding and waxing these parts during assembly to help them last longer.

Our mechanical puzzles are recommended for ages 14 and up. Younger kids (ages 8 and up) can build them too, but we suggest they do it with help from an adult. You can use the filter on this page to find kits for different age ranges, including 8 to 13 years, 14 to 18 years, and 18 and up.
